Community Education

SHAI provides the community with valuable and impactful programming and educational opportunities through our strong organizational partnerships, addressing the needs and interests of our community.

Public School Partnership

From its inception, SHAI has developed a close working relationship with the Great Neck Public Schools, building bridges and strengthening bonds with our educators and central administrators.

SHAI Past President and educational liaison to the Great Neck Public School district, Pargol Khadavi, spearheads an annual SHAI educational forum co-sponsored with the district’s United Parent Teacher Council, of which she is Vice President. The forum addresses the educational needs of the community’s school-aged children and college-bound students and often partners with neighboring secular and non-secular schools to meet the needs of all students.

SHAI and the school board cooperate on an annual meeting as well as programming on various topics of interest, such as DEI, antisemitism, and AI.

Community Education

SHAI’s community education committee provides quality, informative educational opportunities on topics of interest, with speakers and forums that have addressed such diverse subjects as mental health, breast cancer, combating antisemitism, and navigating personal finances. These educational events are led by SHAI board members several times a year in their areas of interest.
