Over Labor Day Weekend, Jews and allies around the world were once again gripped with grief as news spread that six hostages – Hersh Goldberg-Polin, Eden Yerushalmi, Carmel Gat, Alexander Lobanov, Almog Sarusi, and Ori Danino – had been executed by Hamas terrorists in Gaza. SHAI and other community organizations including Congregation Beth Hadassah, Temple Beth-El of Great Neck, Temple Israel of Great Neck, Young Israel of Great Neck, and the United Mashadi Jewish Community of America, gathered in solidarity in the Village Green to offer prayers for peace for the people of Israel, America, and all humanity. Thanks are extended to the hundreds who attended, the many faith leaders who spoke, and the numerous elected officials from state, county, town, and local governments who came to offer respect and consolation.
