On October 12th, 5 days after the barbaric Hamas attacks in Israel, SHAI & Ahavat Shalom Synagogue hosted a challah bake to raise money for Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF).  Over 150 women – mothers, daughters, and grandmothers – stood in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Israel, baking and joining together in tefilah (prayer).  Erit Partovi opened the evening and the Honorable Mazi Melesa Pilip and the Honorable Segal Blakeman spoke. Erika Kashi and Sharona Yadegar shared the story of Raz z”l, a brave Belev Echad solider murdered at the Nova Music Festival, and lit a candle in her memory.  This meaningful event raised over $30,000.  A special thank you to Ahavat Shalom, Erika Kashi, Edna Khalily, Erit Partovi, Segal Blakeman, and Mazi Melesa Pilip.
