On January 10th, together with Ahavat Shalom Synagogue, SHAI presented a special program titled “Financial Spotlight: Bitcoin & Crypto Currencies, A Fad or the Future.” Professor Khosrow Dehnad, faculty of Financial Engineering of Columbia University, and Department of Finance and Risk Engineering of New York University was the featured speaker. Dr. Dehnad addressed the packed room in English and Persian, explaining the origins of crypto currency, its benefits, and its risks. He also touched upon some of the recent news in this field. Professor Dehnad’s talk was informative and interesting, and well attended thanks to the efforts of SHAI board member Shahruz Shahery who organized this event. Professor Dehnad, is truly a hidden gem of our community and we are very honored to have him.
