The event “By Leaps and Bounds” took place on Feb 29, 2024 at the North High Gymnasium. SHAI members Monica Amirian, Claudine Amirian, Pargol Khadavi, and Marjan Keypour showcased books on Persian culture, ancestry, and events, and shared cultural treats such as Halva and Tu B’shvat delicacies. SHAI was honored to be invited among other major organizations, including local elementary and secondary schools, the Anti-Defamation League, GNCA, the Holocaust Museum, and NAACP.

Dr. Bossert addressed the community and spoke about how Great Neck Public Schools have always proactively included cultures of all kinds and endeavored to understand where everyone is coming from. Dignitaries from the community, including Nassau County Legislator Mazi Melesa Pilip, and neighboring districts also attended. Many families and students from all cultures joined this very well attended event. SHAI was proud to be represented at such an important event.
