On Tuesday, March 25th, SHAI co-sponsored the annual Gracie Mansion Norooz celebration organized by Betty Emmamian and the Gracie Mansion Conservatory. The evening was fun and uplifting and a wonderful opportunity to celebrate with friends as well as Mayor Eric Adams and his team including SHAI Gala honoree, Deputy Mayor Fabien Levy.
The evening’s honorees were founders of the annual Persian Day Parade: Dr. Shahrokh Ahkami, Majid Ahkami, Dr. Cyrus Assadi, and Dr. Mahshid Assadi. Deputy Mayor Fabien Levy spoke eloquently regarding his journey and admiration for the Persian Jewish community. Performers at the event included dancer Julia Kulakova and Mehrnam Rastegari playing the kamanche. World famous singer Hamid Talebzadeh had everyone singing with him and dancing with Persian cadets from West Point. DJ Polka continued the festivities and had the crowd dancing and enjoying. The beautiful haftsin table was provided by Roshanak Yousefian of Popilee Patisserie and Aida Izadpanah at Maison Amadis.
