The 2023-24 year was a year packed with activity, starting with our summer Mondays Fun Days at Bar Beach. Buses picked up our seniors from different locations and brought them to Bar Beach for a day of pleasant weather, walking on the beach, music, dancing, and food. Seniors celebrated Rosh Hashana with joy and each one received a gift from SHAI Senior Program to take home. October 7th hit hard and shifted the mood and our focus. We prayed together and we cried together. To bring a bit of joy and cheer to our seniors, we celebrated Chanukah with the help of DJ Emanuel and his beautiful music. Everyone went home with a basket and hope that the miracle of Chanukah would be repeated again for us and the land of Israel. Nowruz and Purim were celebrated at the senior center this past month.
In the mornings our Israeli singer David and Mrs Abrams help us by singing Hatikva and the National Anthem. Our exercise and physio therapy classes on Monday and Tuesdays draw a lot of attention. Every month our seniors enjoy celebrating those with birthdays that month by singing happy birthday songs. A health truck also comes to the center to administer vaccinations and check the dental condition of each participant. Our appreciation to everyone who has helped to brighten the lives of our seniors.
