A message from Mrs. Parvaneh Khodadadian:
I want to express my heartfelt thanks to the visionaries who have supported my passion to ensure our seniors receive the respect and care they deserve. Over the past 25 years, I’ve had the privilege of working with SHAI’s Senior Center, a place that has become a second home to so many. I’ve been fortunate to receive the support of generous donors and the help of tireless volunteers with hearts of gold.
Throughout the years, I have had the pleasure of meeting so many of your parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents, each of whom has enriched my life in countless ways. As our community continues to grow and age, the need for a senior center only becomes more pressing. Instead of seeing our elders spend their golden years at home, we are able to provide them with a space to gather with friends, share meals, enjoy music, and grow older together.
I kindly ask for your continued support so that we, as a community, can fulfill the mitzvah of honoring our mothers and fathers, as they deserve. Thank you all for being a part of this journey, and for making it possible to continue our important work for our senior community.
Senior Center 2024 Recap:
Our seniors have had a busy few months. Father’s Day was celebrated with music and presents. Throughout the summer we had “Monday Funday” activities at the beach, enjoying music, delicious food, and a beautiful atmosphere. At the pre-Rosh HaShana celebration at Shiraz Restaurant, seniors savored a wonderful meal, accompanied by music and gifts. Seniors also participated in a somber and informative visit to the Holocaust Museum in Glen Cove, which concluded with the moving singing of Hatikvah. We also continue to host a monthly birthday celebration, honoring and appreciating our seniors. All of these events are made possible by our incredible team of volunteers.
